This month the National Credit Union Foundation of USA are highlighting DE Day of Service, its annual event where DEs around the world are called to bring DE projects to life, volunteer, and commit acts of kindness within our credit unions and communities.” This year, the DE Day of Service will be held on June 10.
We know that service in the community looks very different these days. While many things are being canceled or rescheduled due to COVID, we felt it was important to keep this date as is. Our colleagues, members and communities need us more than ever, and there are creative ways for us to help them. To help DEs plan for activities on June 10, we have prepared a list of ways to participate in DE Day of Service during the pandemic.
DEs are also encouraged to consider the Development Issues when planning for Day of Service. To review the 12 Development Issues, click here. The 2019 DE of Service was widely participated by DEs from 18 states, Africa, and Canada and you can read a recap of last year’s projects here.
As we did last year, we’d like to report out all of the amazing things DEs do for Day of Service. We’d ask that you please email Maggie Wolff at mwolff@ncuf.coop with your plans or completed Day of Service project. Pictures are always welcome! Also send to us at the ICULD&E Foundation at info@iculdef.org, that we will publish on this website under the heading "Well done to ....."
Stay safe and well
